There's nothing better than a mincemeat pie when it's cold outside and I found this recipe to be very good, if a little sweet for my tastes - I will cut the sugar down to 1/4 cup when I make it next as others have recommended. I added raisins to bulk up the filling a little and used an egg wash on the pie crust to caramelize and give it a deep color. I definitely recommend serving this with vanilla ice cream for a delicious winter dessert!
