  • 1 cup sugar
  • 11/2 cups unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 large eggs (separated)
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted, sift before measuring)

  • 5 drops green food coloring (or to desired color)
  • 5 drops red food coloring (or to desired color)
