  • 1 cup rice (uncooked, I like Basmati, but any long grain rice will do)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tsps chicken bouillon (powder, e.g. chicken in a mug)
  • 12 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tbsps carrots (finely chopped)
  • 12 tsp ginger (grated, I buy the jarred already prepared kind, keeps forever in your fridge)
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic (I also buy the prepared kind)
  • 14 tsp chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 slices bacon (diced)
  • 2 tbsps chopped celery
  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)
  • green onion (sliced, for garnish)
