This was a great recipe. It was well seasoned and good for a winter's night. For a family of three, there were enough to freeze and serve later. I will prepare this again for my family.

This recipe is pure heaven. I've never tasted anything so rich, creamy and hearty. I will be having this quite often, more often than not. My son lives at home with me and he is 38 years of age, Most people think it sounds odd, however, I am divorced and was living alone. Unfortunately, I have had six heart attacks, a double by-pass, congestive heart failure, osteoperosis, acid reflux, among a few other things. My family doctor is Dr. Clay :Pickering if Whitney, He is fantastic, so sweet, sincere and listens to everything you have to say and actually thinks about it. I firmly believe we have a great relationship. I can tell and talk to him about anything. He cares and he helps. I see him quite often and he always makes me feel so great and we laugh alot. For some crazy reason I'm always getting weird things wrong about my health that I never hear others get. I went to see him one day for something weird I had and he laughed and said to save time, just tell me what is not wrong with you. Ha! Ha! Ha!. It's pretty bad when you look forward to going to your doctor's appointment. Heart disease runs in my family. In this world my son and I only have each other along with our two dogs, Kota and Attilla which are our babies. Please don't feel sorry for me or anything, I feel so wonderful and doing great, and the happiest I have ever been.. My son, Shawn takes the best care of me. He worked for sixteen years for Pure Milk and Oak Farms Dairy in Waco, Texas. We live in Whitney, Texas, Therefore, he drives approximately 30 to 35 miles to go to work and the same amount coming home. He now works and went back to college about a year and a half ago. He already had almost 70 hours of college which he had completed after high school. And, at that time, he started out working part time for the milk company and went to college full time. Unfortunatally, he quit college when I had my first heart attack and went to work full time at the milk plant to make money and to take care of me. After my first heart attack, I had several others and my health deteriorated quickly. Even to this day, while he is at work or at college, or anywhere, he telephones me anywhere from six to eight times while he is gone to check on me. I am really blessed to have such a wonderful son. He has to be a great son and he would be the first to tell you, if he wasn't, as I brought him in to this world, I dang sure would of taken him out. Ha! Ha! Ha! I watch the Pioneer Woman every time it is on, and constantly use her internet site. The first time I ever found her was when she was a the most beautiful guest on the Paula Deen Cooking Show. I felt as if I had met my best friend for life. I have followed her ever since. I love her, her life, her family, Charley and all of the animals as I am a great animal lover too. I look forward to watching her and hear her tell all about her husband Ladd and the kids and all the wonderful things they do on the ranch. My son loves all her recipes also and watches her show when he can. He loves watching Ladd and the kids and the others working the ranch. It is so great to also meet her and his family members. What a blessed family. Watching this show which I always look forward too, I always feel like part of their family also. Such a wonderful feeling, the best. As I am getting ready to submit his, I realize I have rattled on and on and I apologize, however, I feel as if I could tell Ree and talk to her about anything. God bless all of them.
This recipe rates all the stars you can get, just like all her recipes. She makes them sound so easy to duplicate which I do and they always come out great.
