Our neighbor recommended we try this Bo Nuong Xa recipe. 1 full tsp of black pepper seemed a bit much for such a small amount of marinade, but being unfamiliar with this style of cooking, I followed the recipe exactly as written. The prep was quick and easy, taking closer to 10 minutes than the 20 minutes listed. That was definitely a bonus. We chose to serve it over lettuce. I was originally concerned with the amount of pepper, but the beef didn't seem over-seasoned at all. I'm glad we tried this recipe, but I probably wouldn't make it again. It is not necessarily kid or teen-friendly, and I wouldn't usually have all of the ingredients on hand. I would, however, order Bo Nuong Xa in a restaurant.
