How would you describe your culinary style?
My culinary style is to use fresh ingredients for making wholesome, homemade, simple, and delicious foods. I like to cook a variety of different types of foods, from down home southern cooking to International cuisine. My favorites are comfort food dishes that I add a modern touch to.
What is the main source of inspiration for your recipes?
My main source of inspiration for my recipes is from the beautiful beach city of Malibu. I am inspired daily by this city and try to recreate my experiences in my kitchen.
If you could have one food while stranded on a desert island, what would it be?
I think I would have to go for an In-N-Out Cheese Burger (with French fries and a chocolate shake). I know it’s super good, high in calories, and something that I don’t normally allow myself the pleasure of eating. Hey, if I’m stranded alone, why would I care about calories.
For someone new to your blog, which recipe do you recommend they try first?
For someone new to my blog, I would suggest that you try my spring salad with cantaloupe, raspberries, prosciutto and white balsamic vinaigrette. It’s so beautiful, simple to make, and uses fresh ingredients. It’s a perfect example how a recipe so simple and fresh can turn you into a culinary artist.
What is your ultimate guilty food pleasure?
My ultimate guilty food pleasure is macaroni and cheese. I love macaroni and cheese in any form that it is cooked, white cheese, yellow cheese, even from a box. I relish each macaroni noodle and it’s melted oozing warm cheese. I want some now!
To me, Yummly describes the best of the best in dishes around the world.
