How would you describe your culinary style?
I try to cook delicious meals using fresh, in-season (and sometimes local) ingredients that are affordable and accessible. I’m a home cook, so crowd pleasing dishes are my go-to for quick inspiration. I’m also not afraid to be experimental in the kitchen. I love trial and error; it really makes the best meals and desserts! My cooking philosophy is that everyone can create good food, if they just step into the kitchen and let their imagination run wild.
What is the main source of inspiration for your recipes?
I find inspiration all over the place, the possibilities are endless. I love having a really good meal at a restaurant and then trying to replicate it at home. My husband gives me great ideas for meals and I find inspiration from all of my talented blogging friends, cookbooks, and magazines.
If you could have one food while stranded on a desert island, what would it be?
This is a tough question for a foodie! I think I have to go savory. Cheese it is. Parmesan, maybe? And then I could possibly sneak in some baguette. At least I could manage a few days before craving a cookie!
For someone new to your blog, which recipe do you recommend they try first?
Well, we are buffalo chicken maniacs so I would recommend my Buffalo Chicken Pizza, it’s my husband’s favorite.
I’m also a huge fan of vegetarian meals and a couple of the most popular posts on my blog are my Creamy Avocado Pasta and my Quinoa Black Bean Burgers.
And what’s a blog without cookies? These White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Cookies were (and still are) wildly popular.
What is your ultimate guilty food pleasure?
French fries are, by far, my guilty food pleasure. A burger joint in Kansas City has truffle fries that I crave. They are everything that French Fries were ever made to be.
Define Yummly.
Yummly is food that causes euphoria. It’s food that you dream about, drool over, crave and experience.
