How would you describe your culinary style?
Very diverse, and somewhere in between meat and potatoes and gourmet. Sometimes I play things safe and opt to make classic dishes, and others require a little more planning, effort and new ingredients and techniques to try. I am constantly exploring and experimenting with new recipes.
What is the main source of inspiration for your recipes?
My own cookbook library which is always growing, but also very much the web, where the possibilities are endless. I find a lot of inspiration from other foodie bloggers. I think I have enough recipes printed out in the “to try” pile to make a new recipe everyday for the next ten years!
If you could have one food while stranded on a desert island, what would it be?
This is a tough one, but probably anything in the pasta category, because I never get tired of it. I could eat it five days a week, but thankfully my husband isn’t as big a fan as I am.
For someone new to your blog, which recipe do you recommend they try first?
My baked ziti–it’s my very own recipe, and it is always welcomed at family dinners. It feeds a small army, so there are always leftovers for freezing or for the next day.
What is your ultimate guilty food pleasure?
Chocolate, in all forms–brownies, chocolate chip cookies, cake, and melt in your mouth chocolate in it’s pure form.
